THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FORNITURE IN THE WORLD
The trumeau is considered the masterpiece of the Piedmont cabinet - maker.
It is signed and dated "Petrus Piffetti invenit fecit et sculpsit in Taurini 1738".
It is coated with rosewood and box-wood with a rich inlay decoration in ivory and tortoise.
The wonderful oval medallions reproduce classic wedding scenes taken from prints of the period and the middle of the "fastigium" there’s a carved and golden cupid.
Probably it has been a wedding gift for an important member of the Savoy’s House.
